Great advice and throrough explanation of all policies and processes throughout the entire time with my time with psychiatry UK. I was very happy with everything and have no complaints. I am very happy to feel so stable and it has changed my life for the better. A massive thanks to all involved, especially throughout the meds shortage and doing what they could to help during this time given the limitations.
I’m so happy to have chosen P-UK. All staff have been helpful throughout. Thanks so much.
Throughout the process of getting diagnosed and titration I found the staff I had contact with were very helpful, respectful and genuinely wanting to help the patients get the best out of their service. I don’t know if I can name specific names but my prescriber was particularly helpful and helped me navigate my way through the process and answered every single question I had. Titration was extended past the original amount of time as I hadn’t found the right dose yet and even though it took 4 months in total I felt that the focus was on finding what is right rather than rushing.
I had a really great experience with Psychiatry UK. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention specific names of doctors, so I won't, but my experience with pretty much everybody involved was great. I felt like everybody listened to my needs and answered my questions. There was one person who didn't, but my interactions with them were brief. I was later informed they no longer work there (for unrelated reasons, I didn't file a complaint), and the person that took over from them was absolutely wonderful. I feel the whole process has been really helpful for me and I'm happy with my treatment.
Diagnosis was ok, though the doctor was 15 minutes late to the appointment and seemed to rush through it. Titration was awful, I was just sent drugs and expected to get on with it, all my questions were ignored. There was no communication about when the titration period ended and I was left hanging for months not sure what was going on. I mentioned that the drugs didn’t work at all the week before my period and was just told they couldn’t do anything about that. I was also threatened with being discharged for not filling in the online form when I was doing it weekly.
Adult ADHD.
It would of course be better if the NHS didn’t have to outsource. It would also be better in person.
However given that it is a remote service that has a lot of IT automation, it was about as good as it could be.
Great staff, sensibly done. Much much better than expected.
I've felt supported through every step of this, my prescriber and Dr have worked with me to find a treatment plan that works for me. I've felt heard and respected, this is what person-centred care is.
I cannot explain how truly brilliant Faisal Shaikh is. So thorough, so understanding and puts no pressure on you to answer anything you’re struggling with. Once Faisal had reached his diagnosis, the words after meant everything to me. He is so comforting, so warming and so understanding.
Before choosing a psychiatrist best for me, I googled a lot of the names that I could choose from. Faisal Shaikh is on a mission to tackle loneliness and has been studying adult ASD and ADHD for longer than I’ve been alive.
He is absolutely incredible at what he does, and I truly hope he continuously gets the recognition that he deserves. I owe him so much for what he has done for me today. I have waited almost all of my life to be heard, and Faisal heard me.
I couldn’t be more thankful. Recommend to anyone and everyone - what an amazing man.
A very stress free and easy experience. Thank you.
The past few months have been completely eye opening for me and my ADHD diagnosis and the team at Psychiatry-UK have been brilliant. They've made me confident with the different stages I went through from assessment to titration. They've been great at navigating medication shortages and were totally open and transparent about my options as well as keeping on top of my progress throughout. A huge thank you for the help throughout this, the whole treatment process, and learning more about ADHD in general has made such a positive impact on my day to day life, my relationship, my work life & goals and much more. It's also helped me deal with a lot of my previous work, life and school experiences in the past with a new outlook on some of the issues and challenges I've faced. Can't thank the team enough!
